Is parenthood feeling more difficult than you imagined it would? Becoming a parent is a huge life event and while it can feel full of love and joy, it's also completely normal if it also feels challenging.
Issues can include:
• Feeling overwhelmed with the increased demands of having a new baby.
• Feeling the need to be perfect and comparing yourself to other parents.
• Feeling low, isolated or unsure.
• Finding that a challenging or traumatic birth or pregnancy is still affecting you.
• Experiencing changes in relationships with those closest to you.
• Struggling to adjust to new identity or changing body.
• A sense that previous life experiences and old ‘wounds’ are resurfacing and effecting the way you parent.
You don’t need to navigate this alone. I provide a space to bring all your feelings about parenthood however taboo and to help you make sense of what you are experiencing.
We will work on understanding your emotional triggers and how to manage them with particular focus on how your own childhood experiences may be impacting on the way you are feeling as a new parent. While honouring the huge life transition you are experiencing and the process of ‘becoming’ the parent you want to be. Helping you feel more balanced and calmer with tools you can use in the more anxious moments.
